About the Foundation
Message from the Delta Associates Foundation President
Welcome to the Delta Associates Foundation (DAF) website. Our site is designed to provide information about the programs we provide that enrich the lives of African American women, men and children in the Greater Los Angeles South Bay area, including the cities of Carson, Compton, Gardena and South Central Los Angeles. DAF is the result of a journey which started in 1993, and culminated in 1999, with the incorporation of our 501 (c)(3) organization, founded by approximately 150 active members who are committed to providing quality programs and services  in our community.  We invite you to visit our website often to keep up-to-date with our Foundation’s philanthropic endeavors.
This program year, we have partnered with and continue to provide support for the charitable efforts of the Los Angeles South Bay Alumnae Chapter (LASBC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. These programs include:
- Educational and enrichment programs for women with substance abuse problems.
- Educational, enrichment, and mentoring programs for girls 9-18 years old.
- Collaborations with male-focused organizations in providing workshops to motivate and enrich the lives of young boys 8-18 years old.
- Food distribution program for persons in need.
- Black Heritage Essay writing opportunities for Middle and Senior High School students.
- Partnerships with other organizations in providing health information to improve the lives for persons living in low income areas in the South Bay area.
- Â Financial assistance for water wells and water tools in Africa.
- Scholarship grants to 21 students from the surrounding areas.
In addition to funding programs that improve lives, the DAF members contribute many volunteer hours to support the community programs listed above.
The work of our Foundation is made possible by the public support of our Fundraisers, community partners, and members’ donations. We appreciate all of your generosity and thank you for supporting the Delta Associates Foundation.
Sincerely,
Gloria Brown Jackson
President
